TMF Group named Team of the Year by Chartered Institute of Marketing

TMF Group’s Marketing team was named the best of the year at the Chartered Institute of Marketing Excellence Awards last night in London.

One of marketing’s most prestigious prizes, the CIM’s Team of the Year usually goes to high-budget, high-recognition brands; last year it was won by M&C Saatchi on behalf of the Olympic Delivery Authority and Transport for London.

Teamwork is key for this award, and judges were looking for excellent team work, dedication and coordination for the benefit of the business.

TMF Group was recognised for its “Operation: Marketing Turnaround". A recent product of a merger and acquisition culture, TMF Group’s marketing team needed some attention. Operation Marketing Turnaround was a brave campaign to restructure the team. Outstanding leadership and tremendous team engagement generated great performances. The announcer on the night also highlighted the strategic vision and execution of the team.

“I am immensely proud,” says Richard Fitzmaurice, who joined the company as Chief Marketing Officer in summer 2012 tasked with turning things around. “For our small team to be not only be mentioned along with firms such as RBS, Natwest, O2 and Saatchi but to be deemed the best is incredibly moving. This is very much seen as the pinnacle award to win in the industry and to do so - and this soon - is just a fantastic achievement for the whole team and all who have supported us.

“It might seem like a simple project – a case of doing bread and butter work for a marketing team – but within this particular company it was a revolution. I’m so proud of this team and the impact we’ve had in a short space of time; imagine what we will achieve in the future.”
